Nurse Evening Shift

Location: Liberal, Kansas; Position Type: Salaried Full Time; Category: Management.

We are seeking an experienced Industrial Nurse to provide first aid and emergency care for occupational injuries and illnesses, conduct pre-employment physicals, maintain employee health records, and assist the company medical provider during weekly clinic hours.

Responsibilities

• Provide first aid and medical treatment as needed and conduct initial assessment of on-the-job injuries and illnesses, referring for further evaluation as necessary.
• Conduct pre-employment physicals, including fitness for duty examinations, workers compensation checks, and drug screens.
• Maintain employee health records and prepare accident reports.
• Communicate safety concerns to appropriate managers.
• Assist the company medical provider during weekly clinic hours.
• Maintain first-aid kits and order medical supplies as needed.
• Safeguard confidentiality of employee health information and health records.
• Conduct workplace assessments regarding health issues and exposure follow-up.
• Assist with implementation of health promotion strategies, including group and individual health education activities.
• Other duties as assigned.

This is an on-site, safety-sensitive position.

Qualifications

• Current license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse or Licensed Registered Nurse (LPN or RN) in the state of Kansas.
• Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred but not required.
• Experience in occupational health or emergency nursing preferred.
• Knowledge of case management, workers’ compensation, and OSHA regulations helpful but not required.
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills; ability to deal effectively with a variety of people and situations.
• Ability to handle confidential information with great sensitivity.
• Ability to work with limited supervision and high motivation.
• Ability to work well under pressure, meeting multiple and sometimes conflicting deadlines.
• Strong computer skills (MS Word, MS Excel, and HRIS system).
• Bilingual English/Spanish beneficial but not required.
• Available to work a flexible schedule.
