Kennedy Krieger Institute seeks a Specialized Health Needs Interagency Collaboration Educator-RN to serve as a statewide school health expert, providing consultation to parents, educators, and agencies across Maryland.

The role designs training programs, conducts presentations, and develops resources that promote the safe inclusion of students with special health care needs; collaborates with state agencies and school health services to create evidence-based guidance.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing.
• Experience: Five years of nursing experience required, three years school-based nursing preferred.
• License: Active RN license from Maryland or a compact state.
• Certification: Current CPR certification; CM/DN certification by the Maryland Board of Nursing.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a statewide school health expert, providing consultation and support to parents, educators, and community service agencies across Maryland.
• Design and deliver training programs, presentations, and educational resources that promote the safe and successful inclusion of students with special health care needs.
• Partner with Maryland school health services and state agencies to conduct research and develop evidence-based guidance supporting school health initiatives and best practices.
• Offer case-specific consultation and hands-on skills training to school personnel caring for students with medical devices and complex health needs.
• Develop and maintain a website of educational materials and publications regarding specific medical conditions and school-based nursing skills.
• Manage an online resource of educational materials, publications, and clinical resources related to pediatric health conditions and school nursing practice.
