Plainview, NY

Full-Time: Mon-Thurs 8AM-4PM, Fri 9AM-5PM (Flexibility for evenings/weekends)

Salary $70k - $72k/yr

AHRC Nassau, one of Long Island’s largest providers of services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, is seeking a personable, articulate, and engaging Nurse Educator.

This role involves educating staff on medical and health topics such as CPR, AMAP, Infection Control, First Aid, Seizure Management, Bloodborne Pathogens, PPD, OPWDD Diabetes Care, Tube Feeding, and Colostomy Care.

Responsibilities include:

  • Facilitating training using various techniques like role-playing, simulations, group discussions, videos, and lectures.
  • Training & certifying AMAP students.
  • Ensuring staff receive adequate medical training based on internal and QA audits.
  • Training staff on Diabetes, Tube Feeding, and Colostomy Care in compliance with OPWDD.
  • Administering and reading Mantoux (PPD) tests.
  • Developing and updating curricula and procedures per regulations.
  • Conducting on-site, program-specific training and traveling as needed.

Minimum requirements:

  • NYS Registered Nurse Licensure
  • Strong public speaking skills
  • Experience in Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities preferred
  • Teaching experience preferred
  • Proficiency in MS Office and virtual platforms (Teams, Zoom)
  • Availability to work weekends as needed
