Johns Hopkins Howard County Medical Center, located in Columbia, Maryland combines the convenience of a full range of hospital and wellness services, more than 1000 affiliated doctors in nearly 100 clinical specialties, award winning clinical excellence and membership in Johns Hopkins Medicine, one of the country’s premier academic medical systems. Our Adult Emergency Department has 36 beds, 4 fast track beds, and 5 behavioral health beds. We see approximately 140-160 patients/day. About this position:
The Nurse Educator (Nursing Professional Development Specialist) assesses the educational needs of nursing staff for our Oncology and Medical/Surgical units and works closely with management team to develop and implement programs to meet those needs. She/he is involved in all aspects of staff development to include orientation and continuing education, and serves as a resource to staff and managers in regard to patient care standards for the Oncology and Med/Surg units. The Nurse Educator will adjust schedule as needed in order to provide supervision and guidance to new staff on off-shifts. Participates on multidisciplinary committees to complete projects/procedures that affect direct patient care. Participates in implementing strategic hospital and department initiatives.

Salary Range: Minimum 46.57/hour - Maximum 72.18/hour.Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
