Job Summary and Qualifications

The Nurse Educator enhances professional practice and quality patient care by providing evidence-based educational programs that promote competency among nursing, inter-professional, and non-licensed staff at the assigned facility.

In this role, you will:

  • Participate in developing, managing, facilitating, conducting, and evaluating onboarding and orientation programs for healthcare personnel.
  • Provide orientation/onboarding to promote employee retention.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Clinical Professional Development to refine programs based on evaluations.
  • Develop, coordinate, and evaluate competency and educational activities to address practice gaps.
  • Design educational content that encourages engagement and aligns with clinical requests and development processes.
  • Promote and incorporate Evidence-Based Practice (EBP) to improve clinical practice, including participating in research, QI, and EBP initiatives.
  • Identify strategies for lifelong learning and skill enhancement, utilizing the novice-to-expert continuum.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required.
  • Master’s Degree in Nursing preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in clinical education, academia, or leadership (preferred).
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in acute care hospital setting (preferred).
  • Current RN license in the state of practice or active compact license required.
  • Nationally Recognized Specialty certification (preferred).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%.
