Job summary

Parkridge Medical Center, part of HCA Healthcare, seeks a Nurse Education Coordinator to lead onboarding and competency development for nursing and other clinical staff. You will partner with the Director of Clinical Professional Development to design and refine education programs, promote evidence-based practice, and support lifelong learning across the patient care team.

The role emphasizes collaboration, evaluation of program outcomes, and ensuring staff stay current with certification

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing is required.
  • Licensed RN in state of practice or active compact license required.
  • 2+ years in clinical education, CSC, academia or leadership preferred.
  • 2+ years in acute care hospital preferred.
  • Basic Life Saving (BLS) certification required.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

  • Participates in onboarding and orientation program development and evaluation for nursing and other healthcare staff.
  • Delivers orientation/onboarding programs to promote employee retention.
  • Collaborates with the Director of Clinical Professional Development to adjust programs based on evaluation results.
  • Participates in development and management of competency evaluation processes.
  • Designs educational activities addressing practice gaps for licensed and non-licensed staff.
  • Develops activities to achieve outcomes related to deficits or opportunities for improvement in knowledge, skill and practice.
  • Promotes evidence-based practice (EBP) and supports research, EBP, and quality improvement in patient care settings.
  • Identifies strategies to foster lifelong learning and skill maturation.
  • Uses a novice-to-expert continuum to guide staff development.

Job Summary And Qualifications
In this role you will:
  • Participates in the development, coordination, managing, facilitating, conducting, and evaluating of onboarding and orientation programs for nursing and other healthcare personnel.
  • Provides orientation/onboarding programs to promote employee retention.
  • Collaborates with the Director of Clinical Professional Development to adjust the program based on evaluation results.
  • Participates in the development, coordination, and management of facilitating, conducting, and evaluating competency.
  • Designs and identifies educational activities to address practice gaps for identified target audiences, including licensed and non-licensed healthcare personnel, in alignment with HCA and division clinical education request and development processes.
  • Develops activities to achieve specific outcomes related to identified deficits or opportunities for improvement in knowledge, skill and practice. Plans educational content delivery that encourages learner engagement.
  • Promotes and integrates the EBP in order to continuously improve practice. Conducts, encourages, facilitates, and/or participates in research, EBP, and QI in patient care settings.
  • Identifies and develops strategies to facilitate a continuous process of maturation through lifelong learning.
  • Utilizes novice-to-expert continuum when developing staff. Identifies and provides opportunities for skill enhancement and mastery.
What experience and education is needed for this role:
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing Required
  • Master's degree in nursing Preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in clinical education, CSC, academia or leadership. Preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in acute care hospital. Preferred
  • Currently licensed as an RN in the state of practice or has an active compact state license in accordance with law and regulation Required
  • Nationally Recognized Specialty certification Preferred
  • Basic Life Saving (BLS) Required
  • Ability to Travel up to 25%
