Providence Covenant Medical Center is seeking a Nursing Professional Development (NPD) specialist to advance evidence-based practice, facilitate ongoing learning, and support role development for nurses and health care staff.
Requirements include Texas RN license, NCLEX eligibility, Bachelor’s in Nursing, current BLS, 3 years related experience and 1 year acute care hospital experience; preferred Master’s in Nursing and ANCC credentials.
Nursing professional development (NPD) is a nursing practice specialty that improves the professional practice and role competence of nurses and other healthcare personnel by facilitating ongoing learning, change, and role competence and growth with the intention of improving population health through indirect care. The role of the NPD practitioner is multi-faceted and includes serving as a change agent, mentor, learning facilitator and partner for practice transitions. Areas of NPD responsibility are: 1) orientation and onboarding; 2) competency management; 3) education; 4) role development; 5) collaborative partnerships; and (6) inquiry.
