Job Summary

The Nurse Educator provides opportunities for the formal and informal growth and development of clinical and non-clinical staff while working closely with other members of the hospital leadership team. The Educator will evaluate, suggest, create, and incorporate both non-clinical and clinical education that improves medical practices for patients’ safety and well-being. The Educator will carry out facility initiatives in accordance with UHS policies and governmental regulations to promote the highest standards of quality and best practices in education and training. The Educator functions as a consultant, educator, and facilitator for all clinical staff including direct care staff. The Educator will provide orientation, mandatory in-services, continued education, and other training to meet all department and facility needs and regulatory requirements. The Nurse Educator will be an active member in quality assurance and process improvement activities and will have a positive impact on the quality of patient care, staff performance and satisfaction, as well as the recruitment and retention of staff.
