Job summary

Trinity Health System seeks a Nurse Educator to support orientation of new nursing staff and ongoing professional development. The role focuses on developing skills across practice areas within a hospital team setting.

The incumbent will act as a role model and facilitator, planning, implementing and evaluating educational activities to enhance clinical excellence.

Qualifications

• BSN required.
• Master's in Nursing or Nursing Education preferred.
• Minimum three years of relevant clinical practice.
• Current Ohio License as Registered Nurse.
• CPR instructor for Basic Life Support preferred.
• Advanced Life Support or Pediatric Life Support instructor may be required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the orientation of new nursing employees and develop current staff.
• Support clinical staff in developing necessary skills for assigned practice areas.
• Serve as a role model, consultant and facilitator in planning, implementing and evaluating hospital-based educational activities.

Job description

The employee also performs all job duties in compliance with laws and regulation in the observance of accrediting agency standards. The Nurse Educator demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to assist in the orientation of new nursing employees and assist in the further development of current employees. Through consistent interaction with staff, she/he is able to support the clinical staff in developing the necessary skills for the assigned practice areas. The Nurse Educator serves as a role model, consultant and facilitator in planning, implementing and evaluating the educational and other hospital based activities.

Qualifications:

Education

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
• Master’s Degree in Nursing or Nursing Education preferred.

Training and Experience

• Minimum three years of relevant clinical practice.
• Previous teaching experience as preceptor or in health related field.
• Licensure: Current Ohio License as Registered Nurse.
• CPR instructor for Basic Life Support preferred.
• Advanced Life Support instructor certification or Pediatric Life Support instructor may be required.
