Job summary

Managed Care Staffers seeks a Nurse Director to lead the Medical Surgical Unit in Soldotna, Alaska. This senior nursing leadership role directs clinical operations, ensures high-quality patient care, and partners with Nursing Administration to drive excellence across the Med Surg service.

The ideal candidate holds Alaska RN licensure with at least 2 years of acute care and Med Surg director experience; EPIC and Pyxis experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of acute care nursing experience (Required).
• Minimum of 2 years of Medical Surgical Director experience (Required).
• Previous leadership experience in an acute care hospital setting strongly preferred.
• Experience with EPIC and Pyxis (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, and oversee daily operations of the Medical Surgical department.
• Ensure the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered nursing care.

Nurse Director – Medical Surgical Unit, Soldotna, Alaska

Our client, a respected healthcare organization in Alaska, is seeking an experienced Nurse Director to lead its Medical Surgical department. This leadership role is responsible for planning, directing, supervising, and participating in departmental activities to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care.

The Nurse Director will collaborate with Nursing Administration, hospital departments, community healthcare professionals, and the public to advance the organization’s mission while providing principled leadership and operational excellence throughout the Med Surg unit.

Job Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, and oversee daily operations of the Medical Surgical department.
• Ensure the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered nursing care.

Licensure & Certifications:

• Active Alaska RN License (Required)
• Current AHA BLS Certification
• Current AHA ACLS Certification
• PALS Certification required within 6 months of hire
