Job summary

This full-time leadership role oversees a 23-bed Labor & Delivery Unit, a 12-bed Antenatal Unit, and multiple ORs, driving strategic, operational, financial and clinical excellence. Qualifications

• Current RN licensure in Massachusetts.
• MSN, DNP, PhD, or BSN with a Master’s degree in a related field.
• Certification must be current or attained within two years from date of hire.
• Minimum 3 years of leadership experience in Women’s Health.
• Three years labor and delivery nursing experience preferred.
• Recent experience as a nurse leader in a highly matrixed leadership structure is helpful.
• Experience with labor relations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the overall clinical, operational, financial, and strategic direction of Labor & Delivery and Antenatal Service.
• Foster an environment of inclusivity, psychological safety, trust and respect for patients, families, and interdisciplinary clinicians.
• Drive quality improvement, safety, patient-experience, and accreditation readiness.
• Contribute to developing, refining, implementing Department of Nursing vision and practice model, aligning with Mass General Brigham goals.
• Collaborate in creating annual operating budgets and monitor ongoing initiatives.
• Lead workforce engagement, recruitment, retention, and succession planning.
• Mentor and develop nursing leaders and frontline staff.
• Design staffing models to be responsive to dynamic care environments.
• Supervise an assistant nurse director, registered nurses, surgical technicians, and others as directed.
• Report to the Associate Chief Nurse, Nursing and Clinical Services of the designated areas.
• Work schedule is primarily days with 24/7 accountability.
