Job summary

The Providence Center helps adults, adolescents and children affected by psychiatric illnesses, emotional problems and addictions by providing treatment and supportive services within a community setting. The Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU) Nurse assesses and evaluates client health care data collected through interviewing, observation, record review and team input.

We are seeking a dedicated CSU Nurse (LPN/RN) to join a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) required.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred/required as stated.
• Knowledge of psychotropic medications and ability to collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams.
• Experience with addictions populations preferred.
• Experience with managed care populations and utilization review is a plus.
• Position may require driving; valid driver's license and auto insurance required.

Responsibilities

• Analyze assessment data to formulate nursing care plan.
• Identify expected outcomes individualized to the client to improve health status.
• Administer medications per prescriber orders and monitor lab results.
• Provide support to clients regarding daily living issues and conduct home visits as necessary.
• Collaborate with staff to provide comprehensive client care.
• Maintain cooperative relationships with clients, staff and the public.
• Other duties may be assigned.

• Analyze assessment data to formulate the basis of nursing care.
• Identify expected outcomes of care, individualized to the client, with the ultimate goal of improving client’s overall health status.
• Administer medications per prescriber’s orders and monitor lab results as indicated.
• Provide support to clients regarding daily living issues conducting home visits as necessary.
• Collaborate with the staff members in providing care to clients.
• Maintain cooperative relationships with clients, staff and the public.
• Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

• Rhode Island/Nurse Licensure Compact Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) required; Registered Nurse preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
• Knowledge and experience with psychotropic medication, and ability to work well with professionals from other disciplines in a team approach.
• Experience With Addictions Populations Preferred.
• Experience with managed care populations and UR a plus.
• Bilingual Spanish preferred.Position may require driving. Must have valid driver's license, registration, current inspection and insured auto.
