Job Summary

The Nurse Clinician II (NCII) possesses the knowledge and skills to meet professional standards as per the Texas Nursing Practice Act and Harris County Hospital District (HCHD) Nursing Service. The NCII independently manages patients with common clinical problems within their assigned area, applying standards, principles, and algorithms, and recognizes when to seek assistance.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred, or Diploma from an accredited Nursing school

Licensure/Certification

• Registered Nurse licensed in Texas
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA or Red Cross

Other Requirements

• One (1) year full-time RN experience or completion of GN Program
• Bilingual skills preferred

Skills and Abilities

• Excellent verbal communication, especially in public speaking
• Proficiency in report writing and computer skills
• Knowledge of mathematics and medical terminology

Work Schedule

Includes weekends, holidays, on-call, and flexible hours.
