Job summary

Mercy is seeking a dedicated educator to support orientation, competency programs, in-service and continuing education at the unit level for Mercy coworkers.

Ideal candidate holds a Nursing degree with active RN license and BLS; strong knowledge of evidence-based practice and MS Office is expected; AV tools experience is a plus for delivering instruction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing with clinical experience: 2 years if Bachelor's degree attained.
• If Associate's degree is highest, 10 years hospital nursing experience or 5 years if enrolled in RN-to-BSN.
• Current eligible state license if required.
• BLS provider.
• Demonstrates evidence-based practice to influence patient care.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities to meet deadlines.
• Computer skills in Microsoft Office; AV equipment knowledge is a plus.
• Knowledge of equipment/technology used in patient care.

Responsibilities

• Support orientation, competency programs, in-service education, continuing education, and academic partnerships.
• Contribute to career development and role transition efforts at the unit level for Mercy coworkers.
• Deliver education and training to nursing staff and other caregivers.
• Collaborate with teams to integrate evidence-based practices into clinical education.

Position Details:

Minimum Required:

• If Bachelor's degree has been attained, 2 years' clinical experience is required. If Associate's degree is the highest level of degree attained, 10 years hospital nursing experience or 5 years' hospital nursing experience if active enrollment in a RN to BSN program.
• Current appropriate state license if required in discipline.
• BLS provider.
• Demonstrates clinical knowledge related to evidence-based practice with the credibility to positively influence the delivery of patient care.
• Proven ability to organize and multitask to meet project deadlines.
• Computer skills in Microsoft Office applications. Knowledge of audiovisual equipment is an advantage.
• Knowledge of equipment/technology used in delivery of patient care.

Preferred:

• Certified or progress toward certification in a specialty related to responsibilities (if available in discipline) preferred.
• 2 years' teaching experience.
• Additional life support certifications as required by specialty (ACLS/ALS, PALS, NRP, STABLE, TNCC and/or ENPC).
