UK HealthCare’s UK Chandler Hospital in Lexington is seeking Registered Nurses for the Chandler 5 Main Acute care area. You will care for adult patients with medical/surgical conditions in a fast-paced inpatient setting.

As part of the unit, you’ll develop and execute comprehensive nursing plans, deliver direct patient care, and collaborate with physicians and staff to improve outcomes and patient satisfaction. Mentoring Nursing Care Technicians and adhering to policies are also expected.

Job description

Registered Nurses in the Chandler 5 Main Acute care area at UK Chandler Hospital provide care to adult patients with a wide range of medical / surgical conditions.

The 5 Main Chandler Acute care unit provides acute, comprehensive inpatient care for patients suffering from a variety of medical diseases and surgical complications. As a part of this unit, the RN serves as an important component of the medical team. This team is responsible for the diagnosis and treatment of multiple medical and surgical disease complications.

The primary responsibilities for this position consist of providing total, comprehensive, continuous and patient centered care which includes: assessing, documenting, planning, implementing, teaching, developing, and evaluating a comprehensive nursing plan of care; delivering direct patient care; ensuring patient satisfaction; training and delegating duties for Nursing Care Technicians (Nursing Assistant); and adhering to University policies and procedures as well as federal, state and local regulations. Furthermore, this environment supports collaborative efforts among the nursing staff and the team of physicians to increase communication and enhance expected patient outcomes. This includes utilization of the nursing process in conjunction with a comprehensive patient-centered plan of care, ensuring patient satisfaction.
