Job description

This position will serve as a Registered Nurse for a 32-bed Cardiovascular Progressive Unit in Tower 8.100 of Pavilion A. Primary patient conditions consist of heart transplantation, post open heart/cardiovascular surgery and general cardiology. As a team member of this unit, the RN serves as an important component of the progressive care team. This team is responsible for providing continuous monitoring and quick response to both chronic and emergent medical problems.

Primary responsibilities

• providing total, comprehensive, continuous and patient centered care which includes: assessing, documenting, planning, implementing, teaching, developing, and evaluating a comprehensive nursing plan of care
• delivering direct patient care
• ensuring patient satisfaction
• training and delegating duties for Nursing Care Technicians (Nursing Assistant)
• adhering to University policies and procedures as well as federal, state and local regulations
