Job description

Join to apply for the Nurse Case Manager role at WCF Insurance.

WCF has an immediate opening for a Nurse Case Manager reporting to the Manager, Medical Case Management. This is a home-based position in Weber County and/or surrounding areas, with appointments along the Wasatch Front and occasional travel to surrounding areas.

Responsibilities:

• Provide on-site or telephonic nurse case management services to injured workers with complex or catastrophic injuries.
• Utilize the nursing process and implement case management activities.
• Attend injured worker medical appointments and coordinate medically approved services.
• Communicate with injured workers, providers, and adjusters to coordinate care and follow up on care plans.
• Document medical rehabilitation plans, progress, and recovery.
• Address complications or challenges with critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Manage a caseload efficiently, ensuring needs are met within timelines.
• Collaborate with medical providers to facilitate care.
• Serve as a medical resource to claims adjusters, vocational counselors, legal, and other staff.
• Maintain RN licensure and participate in continuing education.

Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited RN program with current Utah license.
• At least three years of clinical experience in critical care, rehabilitation, orthopedics, home health, or community/occupational health.
• One year of nurse case management experience or certification (CCM or CRRN) preferred.
• Knowledge of workers' compensation system.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Valid Utah driver's license, reliable vehicle, and high-speed internet.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
