Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program.
• Active RN license and BLS certification.
• Compact or single-state license to practice in required states.

Responsibilities

• Engage in unit councils, governance and quality initiatives.
• Use nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement and evaluate care.
• Monitor patient conditions and adjust care plans.
• Uphold a culture of safety.
• Evaluate patient and unit outcomes and take action.
• May administer medications and therapies per protocols.
• Communicate effectively and delegate appropriately.
• Pursue professional development and maintain certifications.
• Adhere to ANA Code of Ethics and ensure unbiased patient care.
• Delegate to RNs, LPNs and unlicensed assistive personnel as needed.
• Maintain accurate and timely EHR documentation.
• May float to other units to meet patient care needs.
• Provide age-appropriate care across the life span.
