Job summary

UChicago Medicine in Chicago, IL is hiring a Nurse Associate (RN) for the Digestive Disease team (General Surgery & Oncology) at DCAM - Hyde Park. This is a 100% onsite role based in the greater Chicagoland area.

You will coordinate regimens, support physicians, and serve as liaison between patients, families, and multiple departments while delivering bedside care and patient education.

Qualifications

• Experience in a community health setting.
• Associate Degree in Nursing; BSN preferred.
• Actively licensed Registered Nurse in the state of Illinois.
• Minimum of two years of RN experience.
• ADN nurses must enroll in a BSN program within 6–9 months of hire and make progress toward and complete their BSN within 30 months; ADN nurses receive 100% tuition reimbursement toward a BSN.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates diagnostic and therapeutic regimens for a specified group of patients.
• Maintains cohesiveness between clinical research, physicians, and patients; coordinates physician activities with referring physicians, nursing staff, and other departments/sections.
• Assists physicians with bedside procedures and provides patient care in the clinic with the physician as necessary.
• Acts as liaison between physicians, patients, and families; communicates follow-up plans and scheduling needs to clinics coordinators.
• Supports coordination of research programs by screening patients for acceptance into clinical research and data management.
