A leading healthcare organization in Detroit seeks a Nurse Assistant to provide essential patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. This role involves assisting with patient safety, comfort, and education while working closely with an interprofessional team in a specialized surgical unit.
The 20-bed Transplant, Hepatobiliary and Vascular Surgery Unit specializes in kidney, liver, intestinal, pancreas transplants, all liver cancer surgeries, and vascular surgeries. Nurse Assistants (NAs) on this unit work closely with the interprofessional team for both inpatient and outpatient care to ensure smooth transitions across the care plan. The staff comprises experienced employees with over 10 years of service and new team members.
Under the supervision of the Registered Nurse (RN), performs specific patient care duties to ensure patient safety and comfort. Assists in planning and implementing patient care, responds to emergent situations per established procedures, and participates in ongoing education. Follows the Henry Ford Health System Team Member Standards of Excellence in all interactions.
