Job summary

Avalon Care Center Northpointe in Spokane is seeking qualified Nursing Assistants who hold an active NAR and have completed CNA courses and clinicals. Work as a Nursing Assistant while you wait for your CNA license to become active.

Pay is $20.00 per hour. Full-time day shifts are available. You must obtain CNA certification within 120 days of hire; 401K and essential benefits are available for eligible staff.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Take and record vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure).
• Ambulate residents and assist with transfers.
• Assist with positioning and use of postural supports.
• Record weights and monitor patient health.
• Provide restorative and rehabilitative nursing as directed.
• Respond to resident needs and calls promptly.
• Communicate effectively with residents, families, and care team.
• Ensure proper diet and feeding techniques with dignity.

Avalon Care Center Northpointe in Spokane is looking for qualified candidates who have an active NAR, completed CNA courses, and clinicals to join our team as a Nursing Assistant. Work as a Nursing Assistant while you wait for your CNA license to become active!

$20.00 /hr

Full time Day shifts available

• Must receive CNA license within 120 days of hire.*

We specialize in the care of residents who have psychiatric and behavioral health care needs. Which means most of our residents are mentally ill (schizophrenic, bipolar, etc.), on top of their medical illnesses. We have an in-house mental health program and have mental health case managers who handle behavioral interventions and care planning.

Part-time are eligible for all of the above except Medical. On Call are not eligible for any of the above except 401k

Responsibilities

• Take and record temperature, pulse, respiration and blood pressure.
• Ambulate residents.
• Apply proper lifting and transferring techniques.
• Provide proper positioning and use of postural supports.
• Maintain residents’ positioning, as needed.
• Weigh residents on schedule and record weights accurately.
• Provide restorative and rehabilitative nursing.
• Directly respond, within the scope of practice, to needs and concerns of residents and family members.
• Work with the care giving team to identify and resolve resident and family issues.
• Promptly respond to call lights and other resident needs.
• Treat residents with compassion and dignity.
• Establish effective communication/interaction with residents and families.
• Ensure residents are given correct diet.
• Use proper feeding techniques while respecting personal dignity and meeting the residents’ needs for socialization.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must have an active Nurse Assistant Registration (NAR), CNA courses completed and clinicals completed.
• Must obtain the Certified Nurse Assistant certification within 120 days of hire. Once certified, the title will change to Certified Nurse Assistant and employee must maintain a current certification in the state throughout employment.
• Must have ability to read, write and follow oral and written directions at a level necessary to accomplish the job.
• Must be able to relate positively and favorably to residents and families and to work cooperatively with co-workers and supervisors.
• Must be willing to assist others, including co-workers.
• Must maintain regular attendance.
• Must pass criminal background investigation, reference inquiry, and vaccine mandate attestation requirements of either having been vaccinated or present documentation needed for a medical or religious exemption.
• Recent clinical experience or education is preferred.
