Altru Hospital in Devils Lake, ND is seeking a Nursing Assistant to provide direct patient care under a licensed nurse. You will assist with admissions/discharges, monitor patient status, and help with basic cares and transfers.

The role requires adherence to care plans and hospital policies and involves night shifts with a 36-hour work week. Certification in Nurse Aide (ND Board of Health) within 4 months of start and BLS within 90 days are required.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Nurse Aide certification per ND Board of Health and BLS as per policy.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing the plan of care reflecting patient needs.
• Carry out department standards of care and policies.
• Collect basic subjective and objective data including vital signs.
• Identify signs of health status deviations and report to the Nurse.
• Assist with admission and discharge processes and patient transfers.

The Nursing Assistant assists or performs procedures according to physician order and nursing delegation, based on validation and skill level. The position identifies changes in patient's condition and communicates these changes to the Nurse immediately. Provides assistance with basic cares, transporting and patient transfers.Essential Job Functions:Contributes to and assists in implementing plan of care that reflects the patient's physical, psychological, social, educational, developmental and rehabilitative needs based on patient's age, ethnic origin, economic status, lifestyle, creed or philosophical beliefs.Demonstrates competency and ability to carry out department specific functions in accordance to the department's standards of care, policies and procedures.
