Job summary

Corewell Health is seeking a Nursing Assistant to provide direct patient care on the 5S unit in Troy, MI. The role supports frequent safety checks, uses video monitoring when needed, and collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to ensure patient-centered care.

Orientation includes a full week of corporate training. The schedule runs Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, with a weekend rotation every third weekend. A $1,500 sign-on bonus is available for part-time openings.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Previous hospital or nursing home experience preferred.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support or Red Cross BLS within 30 days of hire.
• Current CNA certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care according to plan of care, unit routine and hospital policy under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
• Safely transport patients via wheelchair or stretcher and document services.
• Serve as an Observer for patients requiring constant observation (in person or via video monitoring).
• Perform general receptionist and clerical duties to facilitate unit functioning.
• Document care provided in the electronic medical record.

About The Unit

5 south medical unit consists of 33 head walls all our rooms are shared with one negative pressure equipped room and two single room to accommodate patient that need private room. Our average census is between 29-32 patients, we monitor patients that need frequent safety checks through Video monitoring system. We have capability of accepting patients needing telemetry. We believe in patient and family centered care; we coordinate patient care with multi-disciplinary team members. We are certified and skilled to perform peritoneal dialysis.

Scope of work

Provides care to the patient according to the plan of care, unit routine and hospital policy under the direction of a Registered Nurse. Safe transport of patients via wheelchair or stretcher, dispatch services and appropriate documentation of services. Provides the services of an Observer for any patient on a patient care unit who has been assessed to require constant observation, either in person or via remote video monitoring, to maximize his/her safety. Performs general receptionist and clerical duties to facilitate efficient functioning of the nursing unit. Documentation of care provided in the electronic medical record.

Orientation

This position requires a full week of corporate orientation. The schedule is Monday-Friday, 7am-3:30pm. You will be required to attend the entire week consecutively.
