Job summary

Henry Ford Health is seeking a Home Health Aide for Metro Detroit to provide in-home patient care under RN supervision. The role covers a 40-hour work week with daytime shifts and eligibility for full-time benefits.

The position requires high school completion and applicable home health certifications, with options spanning CNA, HHA, nursing student, or related training programs. Responsibilities include assisting in planning, delivering compassionate care, and responding to urgent needs

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• CNA or Home Care Aide certification preferred.
• Completion of a Nurse Assistant program or equivalent title may apply.
• Other related programs (PCT/PAT) may qualify.
• Enrollment in a nursing program with Fundamentals of Nursing completed is acceptable.
• Foreign-trained and licensed RN relocating to the U.S. without Michigan RN license may qualify.
• Medical Assistant program with or without experience is considered.

Home Health Aide - Home Health Care & Hospice - Metro Detroit - 40 Hours Per Week - Day Shift

General Summary

Under the direction and supervision of the responsible Registered Nurse, you'll perform specific patient care duties to meet the safety and comfort needs of our patients—making a meaningful impact every single day.

Qualifications

EDUCATION REQUIRED:

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required.
• CNA or Certification as a Home Care Aide (HCA) preferred,
• OR Completion of a Nurse Assistant program (titles for similar programs may vary; e.g. Patient Care Technician (PCT)
• OR Patient Assistant Technician (PAT) but perform the same job role),
• OR May be currently enrolled in a nursing program and have successfully completed the Fundamentals of Nursing course,
• OR Foreign trained and licensed RN who has relocated to the United States and does not hold a Michigan RN license,
• OR Medical Assistant program with OR without experience.
• Requires ability to pass a written Home Health Aide competency test with score of 90% or above.
• Requires ability to pass the HHA Skills Assessment Competency Evaluation.

Certifications/Licensures Required

• Complete BLS Heart Saver Certification during orientation.
• Must possess a current driver's license and a satisfactory driving record to travel to and from various Home Health Care locations.
