Henry Ford Health System is looking for a Nurse Assistant to assist in patient care duties under the supervision of an RN. Responsibilities include performing blood draws, taking vitals, and participating in team roundings within a critical care unit. Candidates should have a high school diploma and completion of a relevant training program. This night shift role offers an opportunity to contribute to critical patient care in a dynamic environment.
GENERAL SUMMARY:
Under the direction and supervision of the responsible Registered Nurse (RN), performs specific patient care duties to meet safety and comfort needs of the patient. Provides input to assist the RN in planning and implementing patient care. Responds to emergent situations according to established procedures. Recognizes and participates in own continuing education. The Nurse Assistant follows the Henry Ford Health System Team Member Standards of Excellence in all interactions.
These duties may include but are not limited to:
- Blood draws
- Vitals
- Performs venipuncture and chemsticks
- Team roundings
- Identifies concerns related to patients, staff, and self, and communicates with the responsible RN
Unit description: 40 bed unit.This unit is made up of the CVICU (12 beds) and SICU/Trauma/Neuro ICU (12 beds).The CVICU provides cardiac care for Open hearts, Impella, Baloon pumps, STEMI, Non-STEMI, TAVR, etc.The SICU/Trauma/Neuro provides care for the critically ill patients following surgery, trauma, strokes, neuro trauma, neurosurgery, traumatic brain injuries.
Shift: 6:30pm to 7:00am
