A leading healthcare organization seeks a Nurse Assistant to provide essential support in a critical care unit. The role involves assisting with patient care, including blood draws and vital monitoring, while working under the direction of a Registered Nurse. Ideal candidates will possess a high school diploma, relevant certifications, and preferably CNA training.
GENERAL SUMMARY:
Under the direction and supervision of the responsible Registered Nurse (RN), performs specific patient care duties to meet safety and comfort needs of the patient. Provides input to assist the RN in planning and implementing patient care. Responds to emergent situations according to established procedures. Recognizes and participates in own continuing education. The Nurse Assistant follows the Henry Ford Health System Team Member Standards of Excellence in all interactions.
These duties may include but are not limited to:
- Blood draws
- Vitals
- Performs venipuncture and chemsticks
- Team roundings
- Identifies concerns related to patients, staff, and self, and communicates with the responsible RN
Unit description: 40bed unit. This unit is made up of the CVICU (12 beds) and SICU/Trauma/Neuro ICU (12 beds). The CVICU provides cardiac care for Open hearts, Impella, Baloon pumps, STEMI, Non-STEMI, TAVR, etc. The SICU/Trauma/Neuro provides care for the critically ill patients following surgery, trauma, strokes, neuro trauma, neurosurgery, traumatic brain injuries.
Shift: 6:30pm to 7:00am
