Job summary

Henry Ford Health System is seeking a Nurse Assistant for the Acute Rehab department. The role operates on a 12-hour day shift (7:00am-7:30pm), 36 hours per week, with alternating weekends and holidays, under RN supervision.

The successful candidate will assist with patient care, participate in care planning, respond to emergencies, and engage in ongoing education while adhering to the system's standards of excellence.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is required.
• Nurse Assistant program completion or enrollment in nursing may be eligible.
• CNA preferred but not required to apply.
• Foreign-trained RN relocating to the U.S. may qualify without Michigan RN licensure.
• Medical Assistant program with or without experience may be acceptable.
• At least 1 year of NA/PCT/PAT experience is acceptable.

• Provides input to assist the RN in planning and implementing patient care.
• Responds to emergent situations according to established procedures.
• Recognizes and participates in own continuing education.
• The Nurse Assistant follows the Henry Ford Health System Team Member Standards of Excellence in all interactions.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• CNA preferred.
• Completion of a Nurse Assistant program (titles for similar programs may vary; e.g., Patient Care Technician (PCT) or Patient Assistant Technician (PAT) but perform the same job role.) OR May be currently enrolled in a nursing program and have successfully completed the Fundamentals of Nursing course. OR Foreign trained and licensed RN who has relocated to the United States and does not hold a Michigan Rn license. OR Medical Assistant program with OR without experience. OR At least one (1) year of previous experience in an NA, PCT, PAT, or similar job role.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:

• Complete BLS Heart Saver Certification during orientation.
