Job summary

Community Hospital – Cardiac Intermediate unit is hiring a Nursing Assistant for full-time days and evenings, including weekend and holiday rotation. The role requires assisting with patient care under RN direction, supporting comfort and safety per hospital standards.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent, CPR, and nursing assistant certification or relevant clinical experience to complete a competency exam.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency preferred.
• One year direct patient care experience with successful completion of competency exam, completion of one semester of clinicals in nursing program or completion of nursing assistant certification.
• CPR certification required.
• Completes annual skill validations as well as safety and infection control procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform various designated patient care activities to support the patient’s personal needs, comfort and safety.
• Follow the patient’s plan of care as determined by the RN team leader.
• Adhere to Hospital Policy and Nursing Service Standards during care delivery.

POSITION PURPOSE AND SUMMARY:

After the patient’s plan of care has been determined by the team leader (RN), the Nursing Assistant performs various designated patient care activities necessary in caring for the personal needs, comfort and safety of the patient in accordance with Hospital Policy and Nursing Service Standards.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

• High school diploma or equivalency preferred.
• One year direct patient care experience with successful completion of competency exam, completion of one semester of clinicals in nursing program or completion of nursing assistant certification required.
• CPR certification required.
• Completes annual skill validations as well as safety and infection control procedures.
