Job summary

Northern Nevada Medical Center in Sparks, NV, is seeking a dynamic Nurse Apprentice to provide direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse preceptor. You will communicate with the RN preceptor about changes in a patient’s condition and results of diagnostic studies.

The role offers hands-on practice in bedside assessment, care planning, and daily evaluation of the care plan with supervision.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited School of Nursing.
• Has completed the fundamentals course in nursing school.
• Nevada CNA License required.
• Current BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates supportive behaviors necessary for bedside report with IMAP & SBAR in partnership with patient in room.
• Perform head-to-toe assessments and reassessments per policy for pediatric, geriatric and general patient populations.
• Formulate a patient care plan in coordination with the RN preceptor.
• Revise plan of care as indicated by patient response and daily evaluation under RN supervision.

We are looking for a dynamic Nurse Apprentice to help provide amazing direct and indirect patient care under the direct supervision of a registered nurse preceptor.You will communicate with RN preceptor, as appropriate, about changes in patient’s clinical condition including results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology.

Job Duties / Responsibilities

• Demonstrates supportive behaviors necessary for performing bedside report using IMAP & SBAR (both accomplished in partnership with patient inside room)
• Ability to perform a head-to-toe assessment on all patients and reassessments as per policy. This includes: pediatric, geriatric and the general patient population.
• In coordination with RN preceptor, is able to formulate a patient care plan.
• Ability to revise plan of care as indicated by the patient’s response to treatment and evaluate overall plan daily for effectiveness under the supervision of the RN preceptor.
