Job summary

Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise is seeking a Nurse Apprentice to join our ICU nursing team within Saint Alphonsus Health System. This 21-bed unit cares for a mixed population across neuro, medical, surgical and trauma services, with a fast-paced environment.

The role involves assisting with patient care under RN supervision, with a schedule of two 12-hour day shifts weekly and flexibility for weeknights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Qualifications

• Maintain a current Nurse Apprentice application on file with the Idaho State Board of Nursing.
• Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification required at hire.
• Demonstrates knowledge to care for Neonate–Geriatric age groups as applicable.

Description:

Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise is looking to hire a Nurse Apprentice to join our incredible nursing team.

This position is for our ICU located at our Level II Trauma Center in Boise! Our Regional Medical Center (https://www.saintalphonsus.org/location/saint-alphonsus-regional-medical-center) is located off I-184 and Curtis Rd.

You will work in the ICU provide care in a 21 bed unit to a mixed patient population needing critical care. This is a fast paced, high-pressure environment that will care for some of the area’s highest acuity patients needing neuro, medical, surgical and trauma care.

Schedule: 2 shifts per week from 7am-7:30pm. Must be flexible to work a varied schedule that consists of weeknights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

• You will perform various patient care activities and related non-professional services necessary in caring for the personal needs and comfort of patients under the direction and supervision of the RN.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Maintain a current Nurse Apprentice application on file with the Idaho State Board of Nursing required
• Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers certification from either AHA, ARC or the Military Training Network is required at hire in all units, unless currently certified in ACLS and/or PALS as defined in the SAHS Certification Crosswalk.
• Demonstrates knowledge and skills to competently care for all assigned age groups (Neonate, Child, Adolescent, Adult, and Geriatric as applicable).
