Job summary

University of Utah Health Hospitals and Clinics seeks a Nursing Support staff to provide direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. You will engage with patients and families and support the clinical environment while developing into a licensed RN.

The role involves rotating shifts, weekend and holiday work, and duties ranging from ADL assistance to patient transport and environmental tasks. Successful candidates will pursue RN licensure after program completion.

Qualifications

• Willingness to work variable and rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to perform nursing tasks under supervision and assist in patient care.
• Knowledge of patient care planning and documentation in medical records.
• Understanding of lifespan growth and development principles and patient assessment procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement and re-evaluate nursing interventions under supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Formulate care plans and document nursing processes.
• Educate patients and families about post-discharge care programs.
• Assist with Activities of Daily Living and indirect patient care tasks.
• Work rotating shifts to meet 24/7 staffing needs.
