Summary:
Provides anesthesia to patients undergoing various procedures by general, regional, or monitored anesthesia techniques. Works under the guidance of the Department of Surgical Services and the medical direction of anesthesiologists in the Department of Anesthesiology.

Responsibilities:

1. Assess patients pre-operatively, including history, physical, anesthesia plan, and documentation. Meet departmental quality metrics.
2. Participate in continuing education, professional meetings, and contribute to clinical learning and institutional committees.
3. Contribute to performance improvement initiatives and evaluate patient outcomes.
4. Maintain accurate anesthesia records and reports.
5. Administer anesthesia safely, monitor patients, adjust care as needed, and document appropriately.

Other Information

Education Requirements:

• Completion of an accredited Nurse Anesthesia program by the AANA.

Licensure/Certification Requirements:

• Certified or eligible for certification by the AANA.
• Licensed as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina.

Professional Experience Requirements:

• No prior experience required.
