MyMichigan Health in Alpena, Michigan is seeking a skilled Nurse Anesthetist to develop anesthesia care plans and provide anesthesia for various procedures. This role involves monitoring patients and supporting their physiological condition during anesthesia.
The ideal candidate will hold a Michigan state license as a Registered Nurse and a specialty license as a Nurse Anesthetist. Additional certifications such as ACLS and BLS must be obtained within specified timeframes.
This position in collaboration with a physician develops an anesthesia care plan. Provides IV sedation and/or monitored anesthesia care and/or administers general, regional or local anesthesia for a variety of surgical, obstetrical, diagnostic or therapeutic procedures. Monitors patients accurately and performs CPR, ventilation or life support measures during emergencies throughout the Medical Center. Manages the patients’ physiological condition while under anesthesia and initiates corrective actions as necessary or as directed by a physician. Assists with other departmental or professional duties as requested by the Manager of Anesthesiology.
Written, organized, and interpersonal skills needed to communicate successfully with individuals and groups to interact with people at all levels to communicate ideas and concepts in a clear and understandable manner. Demonstrates the ability to perform basic and advanced skills required practicing anesthesia. These may include but are not limited to: adult and pediatric venipuncture, arterial line insertion, medication calculation and effects, sterile technique, airway maintenance, administration and management of regional anesthetics. Physical Demand Level: Medium. Must be able to occasionally (0-33% of the workday) lift or carry 21-50 lbs., frequently 34-66% of the workday 20 lbs., and/or walk/stand/push/pull of arm/leg controls and constantly (67-100% of the workday) 10 lbs.
