Job summary

Northwell Health seeks an experienced Nurse Anesthetist leader to manage and optimize anesthesia services. You will oversee daily operations, staffing, budgeting, scheduling, and on-call logistics to support safe patient care and compliance with hospital policies.

This role requires a COA-accredited Master’s in Nurse Anesthesia, NY licensure, NBCRNA certification, and 6–8 years of clinical practice with 2–5 years in management.

Qualifications

• Requires a COA-accredited Nurse Anesthesia program and NBCRNA certification.
• 6–8 years of clinical anesthesia experience with 2–5 years in leadership/management.
• Strong leadership, staffing, budgeting, and policy communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manages daily operations of the anesthesia department.
• Documents staffing/budget changes and makes recommendations.
• Oversees work schedules, on-call arrangements, and emergency changes.
• Interviews, hires, counsels, evaluates, and terminates personnel as needed.
• Ensures accurate patient records and proper handling of controlled substances.
• Drives quality improvement across anesthesia practices and services.
• Collaborates with clinical staff to resolve issues and implement corrective actions.
• Communicates department and hospital policies consistently.
