Job summary

Catholic Charities Boston is seeking a Nurse Aide/Home Health Aide Instructor to deliver classroom, lab, and clinical instruction in accordance with MA Department of Public Health guidelines.

The instructor will supervise practicums in long-term care facilities, mentor students, and help prepare them for the nurse aide certification exam, while collaborating with program staff to support retention and employment outcomes.

Qualifications

• Massachusetts RN license in good standing.
• Meets MA DPH qualifications to serve as Nurse Aide Training Program Instructor.
• Minimum two years of clinical care or long-term care experience.
• Previous experience teaching adult learners is strongly preferred.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience working with multicultural and multilingual populations is highly desirable.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, and Outlook and virtual platforms such as Zoom and Teams.

Responsibilities

• Deliver classroom, laboratory, and clinical instruction for the Nurse Aide/Home Health Aide (NA/HHA) training program in accordance with MA Department of Public Health regulations.
• Prepare lesson plans and instructional materials aligned with the approved curriculum.
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment that promotes student success, professionalism, and active participation.
• Demonstrate, teach, and safely perform techniques for patient mobility and assistive devices.
• Evaluate student performance through exams, skills assessments, attendance, and participation.
• Provide individualized coaching, tutoring, and remediation to help students pass the certification exam.
• Collaborate with Workforce Development Director and program staff to support retention and employment outcomes.
• Participate in curriculum improvements, meetings, trainings, and quality initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with MA DPH requirements and Catholic Charities Boston policies.
• Promote professionalism and person-centered care; maintain accurate documentation.
• Support ESOL instruction and teaching strategies for diverse adult learners.
• Travel to long-term care facilities, hospitals, and community locations as needed.
