Job summary

Diversicare is seeking a motivated Certified Nursing Assistant trainee to support residents in our Alabama facilities. You will learn direct care tasks under supervision, focusing on compassionate, safe, patient-centered assistance.

You'll participate in training, complete documentation, and collaborate with nursing teams. We value reliability, communication, and a willingness to learn, with opportunities to advance within post-acute care at Diversicare.

Qualifications

• Willingness to learn and a passion for caring for residents and patients at their point of need.
• Prior experience working in a skilled nursing or long-term care center is a plus
• Able to communicate positively, effectively, and appropriately with residents/patients, families, community members, volunteers and Diversicare team members
• Possess special interest in, and a positive attitude about, working with long-term care residents/patients and the elderly
• Able to read, write, speak and understand English
• Demonstrates basic computer knowledge and ability with an aptitude to learn company applications

Responsibilities

• Assist the current Certified Nursing Assistant in providing direct care to residents/patients as directed.
• Assist with resident care needs and comforts including hygiene, bathing, dressing and room cleanliness
• Complete assignments and hands-on learning activities
• Attend classroom activities, orientations and on-the-job trainings
• Provide safe bedside care delivered with integrity and compassion
• Communicate effectively with patient/resident and nursing team members
• Accompany residents to activities and events
• Complete required documentation accurately and timely
• Build relationships with patients, families and team members
• Comply with HIPAA when accessing protected health information
• Study and take the state-administered exam to become a CNA
