The Commonwealth of Kentucky, through the General Government Cabinet and Department of Veterans Affairs, seeks a Nurse Aide State Registered I (Part-Time) to support Thomson-Hood Veterans Center in Wilmore, KY.

This role involves assisting with hygiene, meals, mobility and care tasks for veterans, measuring vital signs, and collecting specimens. It is a part-time position with overtime eligibility and a locality premium.

Qualifications

• Must possess current registration with the Kentucky Nurse Aide Registry (KY Nurse Aide Registry).
• No prior experience required.
• Must maintain required licensure/certifications throughout employment.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with personal hygiene such as bathing, dental and oral care, and hair and nail care.
• Assist residents with bowel and bladder functions with escorts to bathroom, bedpan or portable commodes; record intake and output.
• Assist with meals and nourishment for residents requiring assistance and restorative dining.
• Perform total physical care to meet physical and psychosocial needs of veterans.
• Measure and record temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respiration, and height as instructed.
• Collect and label specimens for laboratory analysis.
• Strong interpersonal skills.

Thomson-Hood Veterans Center is a skilled nursing Facility that cares for the Commonwealth of Kentucky’s Veterans. We are looking for a self-motivated, energetic Nurse Aide who possesses the desire to care for Kentucky’s Veterans.
