Description
Overview:

Nurse Aide in Training is a program that allows the employee to receive online and on-the-floor training as a Nurse Aide. Those who provide good customer service, are reliable, team players, and have a strong work ethic will become eligible for Education Assistance to become a Certified Nurse Aide. Education Assistance is provided at NO COST through classes on or offsite at a Regency location, a local community college or technical school, or an internship with a waiver to skip the class if the employee can pass a skills check and practice exam.

What does a Nurse Aide and CNA do in skilled nursing?

They work under the direction of Charge Nurses to assist residents with activities of daily living as outlined in the care plan. Compassion, friendliness, and a desire to help others are essential qualities.

Essential Functions
  • Provide residents with comfort and safety, detect and report potential hazards.
  • Assist with daily activities such as bathing, feeding, dressing, and transferring residents.
  • Log care provided into Electronic Medical Records.
  • Measure and record vital signs.
  • Observe and report changes in residents' conditions.
  • Maintain equipment and supplies.
  • Assist ambulatory residents and push wheelchairs.
  • Perform movements such as pushing, pulling, lifting, bending, and reaching, with or without accommodations.
  • Respond promptly to call lights and address resident needs.
  • Provide excellent customer service and communicate tactfully in sensitive situations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Experience as a caregiver is preferred.
  • Good communication skills.
