Description

Overview

Nurse Aide in Training is a program that allows the employee to receive online and on-the-floor training as a Nurse Aide. Those who demonstrate good customer service, reliability, teamwork, and a strong work ethic will be eligible for Education Assistance to become a Certified Nurse Aide. Education Assistance is provided at NO COST through options such as:

  • Classes on or offsite at a Regency location.
  • A local program offered by a community college or technical school.
  • An internship with a waiver to skip the class, provided the employee passes a skills check and practice exam, qualifying them to schedule testing.

Responsibilities of Nurse Aide and CNA in Skilled Nursing

The Nurse Aide and CNA work under the direction of Charge Nurses to assist residents with activities of daily living as outlined in their care plans. Compassion, friendliness, and a desire to help others are essential to provide the personal care expected.

Essential Functions

  • Ensure residents' comfort and safety, reporting any situations that may cause accidents or injuries.
  • Follow resident care policies and procedures.
  • Assist with daily activities such as bathing, feeding, dressing, hair and nail care, mobility, lifting, and transferring.
  • Record care provided in Electronic Medical Records system.
  • Measure and record vital signs.
  • Observe and report symptoms, reactions, and changes in residents' conditions.
  • Maintain care equipment and supplies.
  • Assist ambulatory residents or those in wheelchairs.
  • Perform movements such as pushing, pulling, lifting, bending, reaching, and lifting over 50 pounds with accommodations.
  • Respond promptly to call lights and assess resident needs or seek assistance.
  • Provide excellent customer service with tactful and appropriate communication, especially in sensitive situations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
