Job summary

Atrium Health is seeking a Nurse Aide I to support patients with activities of daily living, personal hygiene, and basic comfort in a clinical unit.

You will take vital signs, assist with feeding and ambulation, observe patient conditions, and help keep rooms clean and organized. Requires a high school diploma or GED, current Nurse Aide I certification, and BLS per policy.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living.
• Assist patients with personal hygiene.

• Maintain patient/resident rooms in a clean and orderly condition.
• Observe and report changes in patient/resident conditions.
• Orient patients/families to unit and instruct on safety measures.
• Assist with clerical tasks including answering phones, data entry and maintaining medical records.
• Maintain stock supply items in inventory management.
• Perform duties as outlined in the Nurse Aide I scope of practice and tasks list.
• Perform technical tasks with training such as administering a 12-lead ECG and routine venipuncture.

Physical Requirements

Work requires walking, standing, sitting, lifting, reaching, bending, stretching, stooping, pushing, and pulling. Must be able to lift and support the weight of 35 pounds in handling patients, medical equipment, and supplies. Must speak and understand English in good understandable terms. Must have manual and finger dexterity. Physical abilities testing required.

Education, Experience And Certifications

• High School Diploma or GED required for new hires on or after 7/22/2018.
• Current listing with the DFS Nurse Aide Registry as a Nurse Aide I.
• BLS required per policy guidelines.
