Job summary

Atrium Health is seeking a Nurse Aide I/II to support patient care within a clinical unit. The role includes assisting with activities of daily living, personal hygiene, vital signs, and basic clinical tasks under supervision.

The incumbent will also help maintain clean patient rooms, document observations, and assist with light clerical duties as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Current listing with the DFS Nurse Aide Registry as a Nurse Aide I or with the applicable state Board of Nursing as a Nurse Aide II.
• BLS required per policy guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living and personal hygiene.
• Take vital signs and height/weight measurements.
• Feed and ambulate patients according to procedures.
• Maintain patient rooms in a clean, orderly condition.
• Observe and report changes in patient conditions.
• Assist with clerical work and maintaining medical records.
• Maintain stock items in inventory management.
• Perform duties per Nurse Aide I/II tasks and safety guidelines.
• Perform basic technical tasks such as 12-lead ECG and routine venipuncture.

• Performs duties as outlined in the scope of Nurse Aide I or Nurse Aide II tasks (per applicable state Board of Nursing Nurse Aide I and Nurse Aide II Tasks List).
• Perform technical tasks with appropriate training such as administering a 12- Lead Electrocardiogram test and routine venipuncture.

Physical Requirements

Work requires walking, standing, sitting, lifting, reaching, bending, stretching, stooping, pushing, and pulling. Must be able to lift and support the weight of 35 pounds in handling patients, medical equipment, and supplies. Must speak and understand English in good understandable terms. Must have manual and finger dexterity. Physical abilities testing required.

Education, Experience And Certifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
