Thompson Health in the Finger Lakes region seeks a Nursing Assistant to support patient care under licensed nurses. The role emphasizes teamwork, patient safety and compassionate service within an acute care setting.

Two eight-hour shifts and two ten-hour shifts, full-time, with no weekends or holidays; pay ranges from $19.94 to $25.00 per hour based on experience. Required BLS, HS diploma and Nurse Aide credentials; strong communication and customer service skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• BLS certification required.
• Nurse Aide Certificate or current bedside care experience.
• Good communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist the licensed nurses.
• Perform basic nursing care tasks and supportive duties in the acute care setting.
• Assist the licensed nurses by performing basic nursing care tasks and supportive secretarial duties in the Surgical Care Center.
• Functions as part of the health care team to ensure a safe, effective environment on the Nursing Unit.
• Maintain orderliness of the unit, utility room and treatment areas.
• Return equipment to proper storage areas.
• Set up the unit for the next surgical schedule and ensure supplies are ready.
