Job summary

UR Medicine's Thompson Health in Canandaigua, NY, is seeking a full-time Nursing Assistant to deliver basic patient care in an acute care setting. Schedule: 36 hours/week with two 8-hour shifts and two 10-hour shifts, no weekends or holidays. Pay range: $19.94–$25.00 per hour, based on experience.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the licensed nurses.
• Perform basic nursing care tasks and supportive duties in the acute care setting.
• Assist the licensed nurses by performing basic nursing care tasks and supportive secretarial duties in the Surgical Care Center.
• Functions as part of the health care team by assuring various unit tasks are completed to provide a safe, effective and therapeutic environment on the Nursing Unit.
• Assist in maintaining orderliness of the unit, utility room and treatment areas.
• Return cribs, stretchers, wheelchairs and other equipment to their proper storage areas.
• Always ensure that own assignment is completed and show initiative in assuring that all unit tasks are done for shift.
