Responsibilities

1. Assist with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, feeding, toileting, transferring, continence).
2. Assist with admissions, discharges, transfers, and orientation of new employees.
3. Follow department protocols for documentation.
4. Prioritize and adjust assignments to meet changing needs.
5. Perform duties within the assigned environment as directed.
6. Provide and document basic therapeutic care (e.g., measuring vital signs).
7. Prepare meals and snacks.
8. Handle laundry.
9. Evaluate emergencies and perform CPR if necessary.
10. Additional duties if certified as Med Aide, Bath Aide, or Functional Maintenance Aide, including medication administration, bathing assistance, or functional exercises, respectively.

Qualifications

Communication: Ability to understand and follow instructions, interact successfully, and read care plans.

Physical Requirements: Ability to access work area and perform duties safely, with normal vision and hearing, and pass a physical exam demonstrating strength and agility.

Age: Minimum 18 years old.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience: 6 months as aide or caregiver preferred.

Credentials: Valid CNA certification in Nebraska required; if Med Aide, also need CNA and Med Aide 40-hour certification. CPR certification required. All certifications must be current and meet vaccination requirements.
