The Nurse Aide I/Clinical Secretary provides secretarial support to patients, families, and professional staff to ensure efficient, customer-oriented service delivery. The role actively supports WakeMed's Patient & Family Centered Care (PFCC) model by delivering patient care under the supervision of the Registered Nurse. The four key concepts of PFCC are:

  1. Dignity and Respect: Listen to and honor patient and family perspectives and choices.
  2. Information Sharing: Communicate and share complete and unbiased information with patients and families in ways that are affirming and useful.
  3. Participation: Encourage and support patients and families to participate in care and decision-making at their preferred level.
  4. Collaboration: Collaborate with patients, families, and the healthcare team in the delivery of care.
