Job summary

Vistra Nuclear Operations Company in Glen Rose, Texas is seeking a Training Director to lead and manage site training programs across operations, radiation protection, engineering, and maintenance, in partnership with line organizations to drive performance improvements for station staff.

The role reports to the Site Vice President and requires coordinating with INPO/National Academy for Nuclear Training, NRC oversight, and a strong focus on training effectiveness and accreditation renewal.

Qualifications

• Four years professional related experience.
• Two years nuclear power plant experience.
• Experience gained through college degree programs and/or certifications is applicable to above skills.

Responsibilities

• Management oversight of the Operations Initial and Re-qualification Training Programs, including the simulator, in accordance with CPNPP, industry, and regulatory requirements
• Management oversight of the Maintenance, Radiation Protection, Chemistry, and Engineering Training Programs in accordance with CPNPP and industry requirements
• Management oversight of the Industrial Technology student program, college programs, and other staffing development programs
• Maintain active involvement with INPO/National Academy for Nuclear Training evaluations and assist visits, Industry working groups such as Westrain , Training Program Review Board activities, Industry trend analysis, and monitoring of training effectiveness

Job Summary

The Training Director is responsible for employees with diverse backgrounds (e.g. Instructors, Licensed Instructors, Consulting Engineers, Technicians, Contract personnel, Supervisors, & Managers) and is accountable to the Site Vice President to maintain site training programs (e.g. Operations, Radiation Protection, Engineering, Maintenance, Chemistry, General employee training, etc). The Nuclear Training Director is a Senior Leader at CP and partners with the line organizations to facilitate implementation of the training programs for performance improvement of the station staff.
