Radiant in El Segundo, CA seeks a Principal Thermal Modeling Engineer to lead CFD/thermal FEA for the Kaleidos reactor. You will define methods, standards, and validation strategies for turbulent flow, heat transfer, and multi-physics, while mentoring engineers and guiding design decisions across reactor systems, cooling, and shielding.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, physics, or a related field; MS/PhD preferred.
• 10+ years of relevant industry experience with leadership on complex programs.
• Experience with STAR-CCM+, ANSYS Fluent, or other CFD codes; turbulence and conjugate heat transfer modeling.

Responsabilités

• Serve as the technical authority for thermal CFD/FEA modeling of Kaleidos reactor systems.
• Define modeling strategy and best practices for turbulent flow and heat transfer.
• Lead model verification/validation and uncertainty bounds for design decisions.
• Architect automated simulation workflows and tooling for scalable capability.
• Lead development of reduced-order analysis methods with design/test teams.
• Influence design decisions by translating analysis into actionable recommendations.
• Mentor engineers and participate in design/analysis reviews.
