Job summary

Orano USA is seeking a Nuclear Safety/Integrated Safety Analysis Engineer to lead ISA development for Project IKE in Oak Ridge, TN. You will drive safety-basis documentation, identify IROFS, and coordinate multi-discipline reviews to ensure regulatory compliance and safe facility operation.

You will mentor safety engineers, support NRC engagements, and contribute to hazard analyses, change processes, and readiness activities for a first-of-a-kind enrichment project.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Nuclear Engineering or closely related field required.
• Master’s degree may substitute for two years of experience.
• PE license is advantageous but not required.

Responsibilities

• Lead development, update, and configuration control of the ISA and safety-basis documentation per NRC guidance.
• Perform hazard identifications and safety analyses for enrichment processes and related systems.
• Identify IROFS, define functional requirements, and support safety-control maintenance.
• Prepare USQ/change evaluations and 10 CFR 70.72 change packages.
• Support NRC license applications, RAIs, inspections, and readiness reviews.
• Integrate safety disciplines into a coherent facility safety case and mentor junior engineers.
