Job description

Want to work on nuclear technology that directly supports the diagnosis and treatment of millions of patients?

We’re supporting a first-of-a-kind medical isotope production programme using subcritical fission processes and accelerator technology to produce critical medical isotopes.

We’re looking for a Nuclear Safety Analysis Engineer to help develop and apply the methodologies that demonstrate the safe operation of this technology.

The Role

You’ll work across nuclear safety, accident analysis and process hazards, with responsibility for:

  • Radiological & chemical dose calculations
  • Integrated Safety Analysis (ISA)
  • MCNP / SCALE modelling and analysis
  • Safety analysis documentation

This is a hands-on technical role where your analysis will directly influence the design basis, licensing and safe operation of a first-of-a-kind nuclear facility.

What We’re Looking For
  • B.S. in Nuclear Engineering or related discipline
  • 5+ years’ nuclear safety analysis experience
  • Knowledge of 10 CFR Part 70 / Integrated Safety Analysis
  • Strong technical writing and analytical skills
  • Experience with MCNP, SCALE, radioactive dose calculations, source term development, HAZOP or FMEA would be particularly valuable.
Why Consider It?

You’ll be applying nuclear engineering to something with a very tangible outcome: producing medical isotopes used in diagnostic medicine, while working on a genuinely novel combination of nuclear and accelerator technology.

  • Hybrid – minimum 2 days onsite per week
