Job summary

Boston Government Services in Oak Ridge, TN seeks a senior Nuclear Safety Engineer to provide technical support under 10 CFR 830 Subpart B, DOE-STD guidelines, and related standards. The role emphasizes hazard identification, screening, hazard evaluation, and accident/consequence analysis.

You will document results in safety analysis reports and safety requirements, and assist in developing engineered or administrative controls for prevention or mitigation of postulated accidents.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree required.
• 20+ years of relevant experience.
• U.S. citizenship required.
• Must pass drug screening.
• Eligible to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Provide nuclear safety technical support under 10 CFR 830 Subpart B and DOE standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide nuclear safety technical support services in accordance with 10 CFR 830 Subpart B and applicable standards such as DOE-STD-3009-94, DOE-STD-3009-2014 and DOE-STD-1189-2016.
• Utilize demonstrated experience in the hazard identification, hazard screening, and hazard evaluation process.
• Perform accident and consequence analysis process.
• Assist with identification and development of engineered and/or administrative controls credited for the prevention or mitigation of postulated accidents.
• Document the results of these processes in safety analysis reports, documented safety analyses, and technical safety requirements.

Requirements

• A minimum education of a Bachelor of Science degree.
• A minimum of 20 years of relevant experience.
• Must be US citizen.
• Successful drug screening.
• Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a security clearance, if needed.
